With staycations on the rise and summer vacation just around the corner, now is the perfect time to give your car listing a spring clean with our helpful tips and tricks to maximise those rentals.
1. Put your car on the map with Google My Business
Google My Business is a free tool that helps you promote your car listing on Google Search and Google Maps. A business profile like this helps your vehicle show up when it matters most: the moment renters are searching for a vehicle.
At Karshare we strongly encourage our car owners to opt in for this service as it’s a fantastic way of increasing your exposure online and heightes the potential for you to get more rentals. Renters will be able to see an image of your car and your street address on Google Maps, as well as a link to your vehicle’s individual landing page on our website.

2. Boost your profile on social media
Another easy way of promoting your vehicle is by sharing it on social media. Each car on Karshare has a unique link on our website, which makes it easy for you to share with your personal network. Think about places you can spread the word and reach more people – every little helps.
When talking about your listing on social media, make sure you are including a personal touch to stand out from the crowd by including a photo of yourself or sharing a recent rental experience that went well. You can also ask friends and family to share or retweet your car’s profile to get more rentals. If you tag us on Twitter @Karshare, we will retweet your posts!

3. Optimise your photography
With sunnier weather on the horizon, now might be the perfect time to spruce up your vehicle photography for your web listing. Renters will be looking for a clear, unobstructed view of your vehicle so they can be well informed about the layout and specifications before making a decision.
Each listing requires 4 pictures: ¾ front view, side view, ¾ rear view and the interior. The Karshare app will guide you through the process of uploading your images but you can always replace your older pictures with some fresh new ones via the app.
When taking pictures of your vehicle, remember to make sure it is sparkling clean and that you are outdoors where it's nice and bright. Take care to not photograph a reflection of something you don’t want others to see and use the right camera. Remember, pictures are your primary sales tool so blurry or pixelated photographs won’t show off your vehicle in the best possible light!
4. Join the Karshare referral scheme
We have just introduced a new referral scheme designed to spread the word about Karshare. Each user on our platform will now have access to a unique link which they can share with their friends and family. If you refer a renter, they will receive £20 off their first rental – and you’ll get £20 added to your Karshare account as a thank you. You can share this referral link with prospective renters to give them a great discount off your vehicle without it affecting your earnings.
5. Adjust your pricing
Take advantage of Karshare’s Smart Pricing system or adjust your own rental price to increase your chance of rentals. We recommend opting for Smart Pricing, which constantly adjusts the price of your vehicle to match demand. The algorithm determines your price using criteria like your vehicle’s age and location and will then consider changes in supply and demand based on the time of week, month, or year, as well as local events that may affect rentals.
To turn on Smart Pricing, head to ‘My Cars’, select ‘Pricing’ and then select ‘Smart Pricing’.
6. Take part in a marketing campaign
