Leeds City Council & Karshare

Are you a Leeds resident and interested in sharing your car with Karshare? Well we have some good news for you, as Leeds City Council are offering free KarshareGo technology installations to the first 10 Leeds residents who join Karshare with their vehicle! KarshareGo (worth £195) is the kit that enables all rentals to be 100% contactless and managed via the Karshare app.

In order to be eligible for the free installation, your vehicle must meet Karshare’s standard vehicle eligibility requirements. This specific offer also excludes those with non Euro 6 compliant diesel vehicles, as these don’t align with Leeds City Council’s 2030 Climate Emergency target of net zero emissions.

Sharing your car in Leeds

Through research that Karshare conducted last Autumn, we learnt that nearly half (48%) of Leeds residents are actively seeking out ways to boost their household income, and the same number (46%) find the concept of community car sharing appealing. Car sharing is a great opportunity for increasing household income by making use of a car that may otherwise be sat idle. It not only can provide you with earnings, but ultimately will help reduce the number of cars on the road. Opening your car up for rentals may be the reason that someone else is able to go without a car!

With our keyless technology, you don't need to meet the person renting out your car to handover keys, allowing you to manage all bookings via the Karshare app. All drivers are vetted, making the process fully secure and each rental is fully covered by Karshare's insurance policy which doesn't affect your personal insurance. On top of this, you are in complete control of your car's availability and can either use our Smart Pricing feature or set the car's price yourself.
