4. Ride a bicycle made for two in Yatton
Take a drive to Yatton and you’ll find The Strawberry Line, which stretches all the way to Sandford. You can explore this beautiful part of North Somerset and ride a bicycle made for two with the help of the Strawberry Line Cycle Project. Simply turn up on the day and the Strawberry Line team will have your tandem, route and a tasty picnic all ready!
5. Sheep herding and wool spinning in Poulshot
A little further away over in Wiltshire you’ll find a field full of sheep that need herding into their pen! Head to the village of Poulshot to enjoy a fun and completely unique sheep herding experience with the wonderful Raising the Baa team. Your professional shepherd host, Chris, will give you low down on sheep herding tactics, before you head into the barn to try spinning and felting with wool. Baa-rilliant fun guaranteed!
6. Make your own lino prints and cards in Portishead
Combine a waterside walk along Portishead Marina with making your own line art prints on a boat! Your Bristol Art Workshops host, Barbara, will have everything you need to try art printing for the first time. You’ll drive home with a set of beautiful one-off, handmade prints that you can share as unique gifts or hang on a wall.
7. Bee a beekeeper
Take a short drive to Emerson’s Green in South Gloucestershire to meet Alyson, otherwise known as The Bee Lady. This experience is a chance for bee lovers become a beekeeper for the afternoon and explore the secret life of the hive. Putting on a bee suit, you’ll get to look inside a working hive and help Alyson do her regular beekeeping checks, discovering more about these incredible pollinators. Afterwards you’ll leave for home with your own pot of Bristol honey!
