20 Questions with Katy

Karshare wouldn't be able to grow without the hardworking team behind the scenes and our '20 questions' series highlights the brilliant members of our team working towards our mission of creating a world where we never have more cars than we need. Today we're getting to know our Marketing Executive, Katy who loves being out on the open road exploring new places.

1. How would you describe what you do for a living to family and friends?

Help show people new ways of making money and being more sustainable through sharing their car with their pals!

2. What’s one professional skill you’re currently working on?

I’m always working on new ways to use my time efficiently, so that I can give all my projects the attention they require.

3. What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home?

Well, I’m Australian so living here in England is pretty far from ‘home’ but the furthest journey was certainly to Antarctica!

4. How do you prefer to start your day?

Sleeping in and coffee in bed.

5. How do you prefer to end your day?

Staying up late and watching TV in bed (I really like bed lol).

6. What was your first job?

I worked in an amusement park.

7. What’s your go-to productivity trick?

Turn off notifications and work my way through one task at a time.

8.. What are your pet peeves?

Children running around in bars or pubs.

9. What’s the coolest or most interesting thing you’re working on right now?

Building a team of Karshare affiliates who love what we’re doing and want to help spread the word about the benefits of sharing your car.

10. If you could snap your fingers and become an expert in something, what would it be?

Speaking other languages.

11. If you had to listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Sweet Disposition, The Temper Trap.

13. If you could only have three apps on your smartphone, which would you pick?

Instagram, Lightroom and InShot.

14. Where are you in birth order (Oldest? Middle? Youngest? Only child?) and do you think it affects your personality?

Youngest (and only girl). I’m clearly the favourite but I'm actually the most responsible, lol.

15. What trend do you hope makes a comeback?

Low house prices.

16. What’s been the most challenging part of your role at Karshare?

Working in lots of different roles at the same time.

17. What’s your favourite famous or inspirational quote?

The worst is not; So long as we can say 'This is the worst.’ Edgar - Macbeth.

18. What’s your best memory of working at Karshare?

Our recent team day at Phoenix Farm in White City. It was a fantastic day of team work and laughs.

19. What’s something that you’re really good at?

Trying new things.

20. Who do you admire and why?

My parents, they are the hardest working people and taught me to have a great work ethic and to also make the most of your time off.
